We’re really in the swing of things over at Holy Family! This wonderful P7 class have finished their Lumiere Minutes (watch this space…) and are already rehearsing their scenes for Exercise 2.
Here they all are lined up nicely:
And below are a couple of pictures taken during their second class. They were given an exercise in which they had to work in pairs. Each pair was given a picture (a photograph or painting), and they were to imagine this as a still frame from a Lumiere-Style long take. They discussed all the things they could see in the picture (in the background, middle-ground and foreground), and what they understood of the scene from what was on the page… They then had to imagine what might have happened in the ‘shot’ just before this still was taken, and what might happen next. For the latter, I asked them to come up with one predictable scenario – and then one crazy and unpredictable scenario! They appeared to really enjoy this exercise.
